Happy New Year friends!
I'm joining a group of amazing individuals on a blog tour hosted by Cheryl over at Gracefull Parenting talking about new years resolutions you'll actually want to keep.
That sounds crazy right? Resolutions you'll be keeping? What is that even?
That's why I chose the topic that I did, its so simple that it barely even counts as a resolution.
Two scenarios:
A. You get asked to go to a movie that you don't want to see and aren't interested in and you have other things that need to get done, but you don't want to disappoint anyone, so you say yes and go.
B. You get asked to go to a movie that you don't want to see and aren't interested in and you have other things that need to get done, so you say no, but thank you for the invite maybe next time you'll join.
Which scenario do you relate to more?
That would be scenario A from me. Since I can't go back in time and relive many moments when I wish I said no, I'm just going to change things moving forward.
This year I'm going to give myself permission to say no. I'm going to free myself of the guilt that can come from declining invites, or doing favors for others. Putting my feelings first. This is not being selfish, this is knowing your limits. Of course you can say yes to things, but know when to say no. Start small. Something like, "no thank you, I do not need the large combo." Then work your way up from there.
Cheers to a new year and saying no!
Keep moving along on the tour and check out these other resolutions you'll want to keep. If you're into the goal/resolution type of thing ;)
