1200 Minute Summer Movement Challenge

To give myself some account ability this summer and stay active, i'm starting a summer movement challenge.

The 1200 minute summer movement challenge is to be active 1200 minutes during the months of June & July. This breaks down to about 20 minutes per day. 20 minutes is something that I can easily accomplish even with my kids up during the day or do at night before bed.

I've been learning more and more about intuitive eating and listening to what my body needs and it's craving movement.

I'm not looking for a physical transformation, I know that I need this mentally to breeze through summer with a healthy mind, and movement helps me more than anything else.

I've created a spreadsheet to keep my accountable and you can download one for yourself, if you'd like to join me HERE. At the end of summer see if you hit it or exceeded it!

Being active doesn't have to be a big ordeal, but its a conscience decision you will make every day. I think that's the most important thing in this challenge, is making the choice.
  • swim
  • bike
  • walk
  • lift weights
  • workout videos
  • yoga
  • garden
  • dance
  • skip
  • run
Whatever you're heart and body wants. Just get up and move your body.

Will you join me in my 1200 minute summer movement challenge?

If you want to join download and print your own movement spreadsheet, use the hashtag #1200summermovementchallenge on social media! Follow me during this challenge on my Instagram | AIRKAKA

If you have any issues getting the spreadsheet let me know!!! Thanks friends!

If you looked through that you wouldn't even need to add it up to see the savings on just the oils! What sold me on purchasing my PSK was the Frankincense and the Diffuser. Those two items alone is worth purchasing the entire kit again for me!

I LOVE that they include samples of the NingXia Red & Theives! The kit is literally the 11 most versatile oils to get you started. Create blends, roller bottles, diffuse, learn, grow, and experiment what works for you!

You wont be left to defend on your own, you'll have exclusive access to multiple Facebook groups filled with information and members using EO in their lives. Essential Rewards

Okay, so next thing I want to go over while I have you here is Essential Rewards. In the oily world if you hear or see someone taking about a "monthly ER order" this is what it means.

I was slightly confused about it when signing up and wasn't really sure what it was or what it would do to my final total when getting my PSK. It just sounded amazing from a newbie perspective.

Premium Starter Kit from Young Living | The Breakdown

You can sign up for the monthly ordering program at the same time you grab your PSK.
Here are some things you should know if you are choosing to sign up.

  • You pay at the end of check out for the items you add to your monthly order. Whether you customize your ER or click to add one of the other two ER options, if you click a box that says "Yes, add ER to my order"(or something very close to that) when you go to check out that will be added to your final total.
    PSK(160) + ER = Total.
    My order was [160(PSK)+ 50.75(ER)+tax/shipping=230.82]
I know that seems like a ton up front but lets be honest how many times have we blinked in Target and walked out spending close to that of things we don't really need? 😂
  • If you customize your ER order you must add enough products to be at least 50PV. Each product has a PV (personal volume) number associated with it, which most the time is directly associated with the dollar amount. My customized ER order with my PSK, I got Lime, Lemon, Orange & Purification essential oils. Which totaled $50.75 which was 50PV.
  • You can make quick orders anytime during the month but what makes ER so special is that when you purchase through your ER monthly order, you get points back! With my PSK & ER order I received 10% of the total available points (some items do not have PV) back.
    Month 1-3: 10%
    Month 4-24: 20%
    Month 24+: 25%
You can then use these point to get products! WIN WIN!
  • To receive points back on your ER order you need to spend that magic number of 50PV per month. You can customize your order all month long until the processing date, which you can change if needed too. You can also cancel anytime or start ER any time. If you want to cancel and you have points use them up before hand otherwise you'll lose them!
So that's the breakdown when you sign up for a Premium Starter Kit from Young Living and about Essential Rewards. I know its a lot of info, but I hope this has helped you!

There are so many benefits to grabbing a starter kit and becoming a member. They have monthly promos which equals more free products, just by ordering, using and loving YL!

The one thing thing that came in the kit that actually got me hooked on continuing to use Young Living products wasn't even an essential oil! It was the thieves cleaner sample! I had heard about this cleaner and was skeptical. I used the 16oz of cleaner I made for 1 month, and it literally changed my view on clean!

The first thing I think to grab when there is a mess or spill, is my thieves cleaner. I was worried about using it with my laminate wood flooring, but it has been amazing.  I have 4 cats and other products would do a good job but that "clean smell" would disappear in a matter of hours. Now, with thieves I'll walk into my home a day later and still smell it and not my cats! Even my very skeptical husband has made comments about how impressed he is with it!

If you have any questions or want to snag a Premium Starter Kit for yourself let me know! You can always click THIS LINK  fill out your info just to see what the cost for you would be with the kit & products you choose in your ER order.

Thanks for reading! Share share share!

9 Young Living Essential oils (you'll actually use) for LESS than $13

Hi friends!

Lets talk essential oils.

I wanted to create this post because this is something I would have loved to read before using essential oils.

From someone who is frugal in basically all things in my life, and can not even hardly spend money on myself, I know cost is one of the first things people think about with essential oils. Yes, they are an investment, but there are essential oils that you will actually want to use that wont break the bank. Especially, if you are wanting to try some but don't want to commit to a premium starter kit just yet.

First things first, the prices i'm sharing are wholesale pricing. Meaning, these are the prices that members of YL receive when they purchase oils. However, a lot of these oils retail price are below $13 as well. If you are not a member but want wholesale prices, find a member local to you (pick me friends! 😉), they can add the oils you want to try to their essential rewards monthly order and viola! You've got oils at the best price and don't have to worry about becoming a member.

So lets get right into this.

It's always a good idea to talk with your doctor before using any essential oils to see they are safe to be combined with anything you may already to be taking. Each EO is linked to pages with more information about that oil. Here is also the essential oil safety guide with some important usage FAQS.

The white labeled bottle AKA the Vitality Line is so you can clearly see what oils are safe for internal use. They each have supplement fact labels as well for FDA regulation for consuming.

Personally, I do use my vitality line essential oils aromatically, and topically as well.

March is for Birthdays

Half the family was born in March, yes 3 birthdays this month.

First is Camden! He is now FIVE!

Since his birthday was a Thursday he got spend a few hours with his preschool friends. He was so excited to bring them little goodie bags we put together with some treats and toys. They were celebrating Dr. Suess birthday in preschool, so it was even more special with watching The Lorax. He said he had the best time ever!

He received fun gifts but his favorite would be the presents from his best friend Paisley. It's the cutest friendship ever, and we hope some day my best friend and I can be in laws. 😂 Every parents dream right?

We had ate chocolate cupcakes with his special request of maple frosting. Which turns out even though he loved it, didn't want that on his cupcake. Knowing my kids I already had chocolate frosting on hand.

He is the sweetest, most helpful caring little boy I've ever known. He has so much love to give and he is going to do great things in his life.  He's excited to start kindergarten in July and is ready to be a super big kid at school.

Young Women Secretary Helps | Agendas & MORE!

I've been Secretary of our young women (girls ages 12-18) group in my ward for a year now! Time flies! In my year I've gained new skills of learning how to balance my time, schedule, write things down, and be more organized. It's been a huge blessing in my life, cause I had very few of these things before I was called.

When I was first called I immediately searched Pinterest to get ideas of what in the world a secretary does! Well there isn't very much going on in the secretary Pinterest game. So I've decided to share some things I've created that have helped to up my secretary game. These are all blank agendas, obvs, that you can print and fill out.

Sometimes I don't feel old, and then today I woke up with a 10 year old daughter. Yeah I feel slightly old now.

How quickly 10 years has flown.  Evelyn has grown into a unique and beautiful young lady. To tell you the truth, its kinda scaring me a little. I don't know what lies ahead but I know it will be full of fun, interesting, amazing adventures with this girl. 💗

Give Yourself Permission To Say No

Happy New Year friends!

I'm joining a group of amazing individuals on a blog tour hosted by Cheryl over at Gracefull Parenting talking about new years resolutions you'll actually want to keep.

That sounds crazy right? Resolutions you'll be keeping? What is that even?

New Years Resolutions You'll Actually Want to Keep

Really though, what is that even? I don't normally set resolutions at the new year. 🙈 I know myself and I know if I'm labeling something as a goal/resolution, it ain't happening. 😂

That's why I chose the topic that I did, its so simple that it barely even counts as a resolution.

Two scenarios:
A. You get asked to go to a movie that you don't want to see and aren't interested in and you have other things that need to get done, but you don't want to disappoint anyone, so you say yes and go.

B. You get asked to go to a movie that you don't want to see and aren't interested in and you have other things that need to get done, so you say no, but thank you for the invite maybe next time you'll join.

Which scenario do you relate to more?

That would be scenario A from me. Since I can't go back in time and relive many moments when I wish I said no, I'm just going to change things moving forward.

This year I'm going to give myself permission to say no. I'm going to free myself of the guilt that can come from declining invites, or doing favors for others. Putting my feelings first. This is not being selfish, this is knowing your limits. Of course you can say yes to things, but know when to say no.  Start small. Something like, "no thank you, I do not need the large combo." Then work your way up from there.

Give yourself permission to say no

Cheers to a new year and saying no!

Keep moving along on the tour and check out these other resolutions you'll want to keep. If you're into the goal/resolution type of thing ;)

Amelia turned 8 and was Baptized

8 years old is a big milestone in our home, Amelia hit that milestone on December 3rd.  Then on Saturday, December 16th was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mia is something special and has the sweetest personality. She is a light, and a peacemaker. We are so proud of her and the things shes accomplished so far, and how much she has grown in just a short amount of time.

We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Fun things that I hope we get around to doing AKA a bucket list

Raise your hand if you attempt some sort of bucket/family activity list during the winter.

Now who crosses off items on that list?

That'd be a yes to the first and a nay to the latter from me. DOH!

I have every intention when creating a list of family activities, to do every single one, but gosh darn it, its hard for me.  I try every year and we never complete our list. Something I often struggle with is finding the balance of, having fun adventures/experiences with my kids but keeping their expectations low.  That may sound bad, but I'm just not the mom that's taking their kids to do something every weekend. I just can't do that. So when we do something its like SUPER exciting, but then I feel bad we don't do things like that more often...then the cycle just keeping going and going. Its madness, but creating a silly bucket list can be so stressful.

So, in order to keep my self-confidence up & stress levels down this year I've decided instead of making some grand list, I'm going to try and just enjoy and make the things we are already doing this winter/holiday our family bucket list. I'm hopeful that this will help the time we spend together as a family more meaningful.

  • attend a family Christmas party
  • have one date night & day date
  • attend Evelyn's orchestra concert. get treats after.
  • watch Amelia be baptized
  • sing Christmas songs
  • hug my children and tell them I love them
  • pay for someones meal at a restaurant/drive thru
  • send a letter in the mail
  • send a gift in the mail
  • make treats for neighbors
  • read Christmas stories
  • serve our friends & neighbors
Whatever we do, small or big, I know I just want my family by my side enjoying the holidays.

Slow and Steady

November 2017 vs 3 Weeks postpartum April 2016
obviously same shirt

This is what slow weight loss looks like after having a baby.  I don't understand why so many want to just "bounce back" so soon after having a baby. I don't know about you but not everyone has the ability to do that. We're all different inside and out, and some take longer to loose weight gained during, and after pregnancies.

I've tried many times to loose weight too soon after I've had babies and it back fires... every.single.time.
Why? Because my body & mind are not ready for it.  It takes at least a good year for my hormones, and hips and all sorts of other things to recover from creating life and bringing that life to the world, but its mostly mental.

I am not even close to being mentally ready to change my eating, let alone exercise.  I try a little at a time. Everything clicks, eventually, but if it doesn't then I know its time to stop and start again later instead of beating myself up about it and causing even more mental and physical abuse to myself.

It's clicked quickly this time around because it was an absolute must that diets change in our household. Leo is 20 months and I've started and stopped many time and I was very much ready for a change. My body was screaming at me to change, even a little. I was ready cause its for the health of Chris, but it also needed to be a family change. Its much easier to make a change if you have your closest support system right there along with you for the ride.

We've cut way down on carbs, still have them though, cause I just can't not have it, boosted our protein, vegetable and water intake, and its having positive effects already. We still indulge a little, but we're already to the point that it would make us sick if we went too far over the edge. Which I see as a good thing. Our bodies are resetting.

We've been a little over a month in and I've lost some weight, Chris has too, we just feel a little better and that's the whole purpose in this, feel better. It's not about a weight loss number, although its been a positive side effect.

I did an Instagram post about not caring about the number of my weight. I weigh a little less now but seriously who really cares. Weight is such a weird thing with women, when it shouldn't be.

I've gone way off, and if i kept talking about it I would just blow up. So I'm going to end this with thought of weight loss, especially those postpartum...

Just because it's what's done doesn't mean it's what should be done!

By the way, the tortoise did beat the hare. Just saying.

Cold Weather Momiform

Today's Mommy Style Monday topic made me lol a little. Being in Arizona, it's just finally starting to feel like fall. We've been flirtin with low 80's finally. 😂So cold weather is still about a month or so away, but even when it gets cold, my wardrobe doesn't change much from fall to winter.

I'm kidding, well right now that's true, only a light jacket needed but come end of December & January you'll find me huddled in the corner wishing I had purchased a snuggy.

One thing i'm always super excited about with my cold weather momiform is wearing jeans, and not getting heat stroke wearing them. Weird I know, but you learn to appreciate the little things like that. In addition to that you'll see me sporting just a simple shirt, mostly short sleeve but I'll wear a cardigan or jacket with them, or I'll wear quarter length sleeve shirts, so no extra is needed.

On my feet I'm wearing some kind of flip flop most days, otherwise closed toe flats. The second I get home shoes off and socks on. I have an easier time staying warm if my feet aren't cold, anyone else?

This is my new favorite shirt, I found it on clearance at Walmart for $7 and then went back and bought another one in black. I would have a 3rd but the plum color was sold out in my size. I knew I should have snagged them all. Never again.

See look jeans! I found these stretchy skinny jeans at Target. They were a size down from what I would have bought a few months ago, that was exciting. The legs are a little long and a little loose though, but I'll be sewing them up shortly for a perfect fit.

Mr. Link came to visit after taking photos. My momiform also doubles as a cat mom too. 😉 When I find something I love and am comfortable I run with it!

What does your cold weather wardrobe look like? What's your favorite winter accessory?
