television

The Television.

i could just end right now with just those two little words, but alas i will not leave you hangin like that.  i have a love/loath relationship with one television in particular in my house.  it's the TV in my daughters room that i've been so desperately trying to get out of there.

LOVE- i love it in there because well lets face it, i don't get too much time to my favorite shows anymore, and we are in the stone age and don't have tivo. ::GASP:: so when its "mommy time" i can sit down for half an hour to an hour and get a show in our two with out a huge argument from my kids. they can peacefully watch something on the kids tv.
i need my resting time.  you know kill some brain cells, become lazy, eat way too much chips and salsa while watching amazing mindless entertainment. i believe everybody need a little of that.

LOATH- i don't just hate it i loath it with a undying passion.  why you ask? well because one it's in there and two because she expects a movie/show every night in order to fall asleep. she can not fall asleep with out it, and it drives me crazy.  if it just "happens" to turn off in the middle of the night she'll wake up start freaking out and scream until its turned back on.  i loath the fact that my daughter is dependent on this tv to help her sleep.
i'm not even sure when this actually came about. i can't remember even putting the tv in there, its weird.

well so now because of my "good job" ::pouring on the sarcasm:: i pretty much am face palming every time i think about it. DOH!

live and learn right?  i am determined to not have my youngest doomed to the same fate.

what's life with out a little face palming action!

crumbs

my feet need a break.  they are not really tired (but a good food rub would be nice). my feet need a break from the crumbs that get stuck to the bottom of them when I'm walking around the house.

have you ever experience stepping on a day old piece of toast?

just to let you know (from experience) its collapses instantaneously under pressure into miniaturized pieces of annoyance. sometimes i will just brush my feet off and walk away from the pile, cause lets face it sometimes i just don't have the time (or i'm just being lazy) to clean it up.  so how many times does it take for me to step on it before i clean it up? a whole lot that's how many.

i know it needs to be clean but i make the excuse of  "it's just going to happen again so why clean it up now." story of my life.

so in conclusion. i guess if i need a break for my feet i need to use my feet more and walk around and clean up right when the mess or spill happens.

how is this better?  i do not know, but it is.

on a scale of 1 to 10 how clean is your house right now.
1 = disaster zone  10 = so clean that even Mr. clean is envious.

i'm gonna have to go with a 4.  which is what it is pretty much every day.

cheers to another day of doing a good job momma's.

Welcome Mommas

So lets get things started.

I have a 3 year old.  3 year old kids are well, lets just say difficult (only sometimes, okay most of the time).  One thing I'm working on with her is her creativity.  So if this is going to be successful i need to be creative too.  I get a little creative with different ways to tell her no.

e: mom i wanna go outside
me: no honey
e:but mom i wanna go outside
me: its too hot
e:no its not mom i wanna go
(tears already flowing & getting red faced)
me:well honey if you go out side you'll burn your feet off cause the ground is so hot.
e: oh no momma, get water outside
me:well if you get water than water bugs will come and get you.
(she is afraid of bugs getting her)
e: oh no bugs!
me:so you should stay inside so the bugs can't get you.
we'll watch a movie and play games. okay?
e:okay momma
(running away as happy as can be)

Am i ashamed that i used something my daughter is afraid of? nope.
Should i be? absolutely not.

I'm sure we've all done this a time or two or ten.

This is my life.  Trying to persuade my 3 year old which turns into arguments and chasing after a 1 year old who gets into everything and leaves trails of food all over the house.  It a great life.

Today for good job momma is creativity!

What's something you've done that's creative?  so we can all learn a few more tricks to keep up our sleeves. :)
